Electrical measurements and installation acceptance in Wrocław

Two related services from one hand: protective measurements with a protocol, and an independent acceptance of a new or modernised installation.

Measurements and acceptance go together — measurements prove with numbers that the installation is safe, while acceptance adds inspection, design compliance and a formal protocol. I do both with a SEP E+D measurement license, on calibrated meters. Below I explain exactly how they differ and when you need which.

Measurements

Measurements check one thing: whether your installation is safe for you and your family. Among others I measure whether the residual-current devices (RCDs) will trip within a fraction of a second in case of a shock, whether the wire insulation has not aged, and whether the breakers will actually trip on a short circuit. These are tests you cannot judge by eye — an installation can look fine and be dangerous.

I check the full set: insulation resistance, shock-protection effectiveness (fault loop impedance), RCD parameters, continuity of protective conductors and earthing resistance. Each measurement ends with a clear protocol with results and a compliance assessment — a document required at acceptance, by insurers and when selling property.

Acceptance

Acceptance is an independent check of whether an installation was done well and is safe — before you pay for it or move in. It covers inspection (protection selection, circuit labels, equipotential bonding), full protective measurements and documentation review. This is the moment when contractor mistakes surface — the ones you can no longer see once they are hidden under plaster.

At the end I issue an acceptance protocol — required for building handover, utility notification and accepting a contractor’s work. I act independently of the team that built the installation, and if something needs fixing you get a concrete defects list before payment.

What it means for you

You are sure the installation will not shock the household or start a fire — and if something is wrong, you learn it in advance. For a new installation you do not have to take the contractor’s word for it: you get an independent check and a defects list before you pay. In the end you hold a protocol that protects you formally — in a claim the insurer cannot dispute the payout, and a buyer has proof the installation works. In short: a good night’s sleep and a document that defends your money.

Scope of service

How we work, step by step

  1. 1

    Request and scope

You tell me what you need (periodic measurement, for insurance/sale, or acceptance of a new installation). I set the scope and a date.

  2. 2

    Inspection and measurements

With calibrated meters I check RCDs, insulation, fault loop, earthing and continuity; for acceptance also the board and design compliance.

  3. 3

    Assessment and defects list

I explain in plain words what is fine and what to fix — no scaremongering. For acceptance you get a list before paying the contractor.

  4. 4

    Protocol

A clear measurement or acceptance protocol with a compliance assessment — ready for acceptance, insurer, notary or notifications.

Why 71elektryk

Family safety

Certainty that RCDs and breakers will act when needed — protecting people and the home from fire.

Independent check

At acceptance I verify the contractor’s work before payment — catching faults before they vanish under plaster.

A protocol that defends

A document for acceptance, insurer and sale — SEP E+D measurement license.

FAQ

How is acceptance different from measurements?+

Measurements are part of acceptance. Acceptance also covers inspection, design compliance, protection selection and documentation review — all ending with an acceptance protocol. A measurement says “the numbers check out”; acceptance says “the whole thing is done correctly and safely”.

Why measure at all — the installation works?+

Working does not mean safe. Insulation ages, contacts loosen, and a faulty RCD still “clicks” but no longer protects against a shock. Measurements catch these hidden defects before they cause a shock or fire. It is like a car inspection — you drive, but you check the brakes in advance.

When are measurements or acceptance required?+

Measurements: periodically during use, before selling or renting, and whenever an insurer requires it (especially in a claim — without a protocol they may refuse to pay). Acceptance: at handover of a new building, after a larger renovation, and when accepting a contractor’s work.

How often should periodic measurements be done?+

For a typical flat or house usually every 5 years. More often in damp or harsh conditions (workshop, bathroom, outdoors). After a fault, flooding, surge or rebuild — immediately.

Can I order acceptance of another electrician’s work?+

Yes, and it is common. I perform an independent acceptance and give a defects list before you accept the work — so you have grounds to make the team fix them at their own cost before you pay.

What does the visit look like — does anything get disconnected?+

A flat is usually one visit. For part of the tests power briefly goes off on a given circuit — I warn you and arrange it to suit you. No wall chasing, no moving furniture. Afterwards the installation returns to normal operation.
