Your home is now full of internet-connected devices: smart TV, cameras, video intercom, robot vacuum, fridge, thermostat, speakers, consoles. Each is a small computer that collects data and is often poorly secured by the maker — and Europe has a growing cybersecurity problem: cheap devices with factory passwords, unpatched firmware and constant data uploads to the cloud become a real gateway into your network and privacy.
Cameras and intercoms are especially dangerous. On the same network as your banking computer, with a default password and internet access, they can be hijacked — and then a stranger watches the view from inside and around your home. Smart TVs and appliances in turn constantly profile the household and can be an entry point into the whole network. This is not theory — it is everyday reality in security reports.
I sort it out: I audit what actually runs on your network and where it sends data, design a secure architecture, separate risky devices from your computers and phones, block tracking and phishing network-wide, and finally give you cloud-independent services: backups, a private cloud and media that stay at home with you.
What it means for you
You stop being the product. Your camera and intercom show the view only to you, not to a random bot from the internet; smart TVs and appliances stop spying on the family; ads, trackers and phishing sites vanish on every device at home — including your child’s phone. Your photos, documents and videos live on your own server, without subscriptions and without handing them to strangers. In short: privacy, peace and a network that protects you instead of watching you.
Scope of service
- ▸Security audit of an existing home or business network
- ▸Design of a new network with segmentation (VLAN: home / IoT / cameras / guests / business)
- ▸Separating smart, RTV and AGD devices from computers and phones
- ▸Securing cameras, video intercom and IoT (passwords, local access instead of cloud)
- ▸AdGuard Home / Pi-hole — network-wide ad, tracker and phishing blocking
- ▸Router hardening, guest network, strong passwords and updates
- ▸NAS server and automatic backups (photos, documents)
- ▸Private cloud (Nextcloud) and media centre (Plex / Jellyfin)
- ▸Secure remote access via VPN — without exposing devices to the internet
How we work, step by step
- 1
Network audit
I check devices, router, passwords and where data flows. You get a clear list of risks and recommendations.
- 2
Design
I design a secure architecture: segmentation (separate networks for IoT/cameras/guests), rules and services to fit your needs and hardware.
- 3
Implementation
Device separation, tracking and phishing blocking (AdGuard/Pi-hole), router hardening, securing cameras and the intercom.
- 4
Services and training
I set up NAS, private cloud, media centre and secure remote access (VPN). I show you how to use it.
Why 71elektryk
Privacy and peace
Cameras and intercom accessible only to you, smart devices that do not spy on the household.
Clean internet
Ad, tracker and phishing blocking on every device — including kids’ phones.
Your data at home
NAS and private cloud instead of subscriptions and handing photos to strangers.
FAQ
Can my smart devices be a gateway for a burglar?+
Yes. A cheap camera, intercom or bulb with a factory password and internet access is a common entry point. Once one device is taken over, the attacker sees the rest of the network — including your banking computer. That is why I move such devices to a separate network and cut off their needless access.
Why separate cameras and IoT into their own network?+
So that even a hijacked device cannot reach your computers, phones and data. Cameras and smart gear go into their own isolated segment (VLAN) — they work normally but cannot see the rest of the home. It is basic, effective protection.
What is AdGuard Home / Pi-hole?+
A network-wide filter: it blocks ads, trackers and known phishing sites before they load on any device — computer, phone, smart TV. The internet is faster, cleaner and safer, with nothing to install on each device separately.
Why a NAS and private cloud if I have Google/iCloud?+
Because then your photos and documents are with you, not on someone else’s servers — no monthly storage fees and no profiling. A NAS makes automatic backups and serves media at home; a private cloud (Nextcloud) gives iCloud-like convenience under your control.
Does this apply to a small business too?+
Yes — the risk is higher there (client data, invoices, GDPR). I separate the business network from guest and private, add backups and secure remote access. It is real protection against ransomware and data leaks.
Do I have to replace all my hardware?+
Usually not. First an audit — often a correct router configuration, adding one device (e.g. a mini-server on Raspberry Pi) and tidying the network is enough. I suggest replacement only where the hardware truly limits security.
